One of the public service goals of the more than 130,000 member ASME is to "provide advice to government officials at all levels on engineering and technology matters and policies affecting the public interest and to develop a climate of understanding and credibility that fosters a continuing dialogue." ASME's "Public Policy Education Center" serves as a resource for ASME members who are interested in learning more about legislative and regulatory issues currently being addressed by the 114th Congress, as well as for policymakers interested in the technical resources ASME has to offer.
