Scott Pruitt Says That EPA Will Repeal the Clean Power Plan

The Trump administration will take its first formal step to repeal the Clean Power Plan, the signature Obama-era climate policy, but will not offer an immediate replacement — leaving little indication as to how the Environmental Protection Agency plans to meet its obligation to regulate the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Announcing the repeal from the heart of coal country in Kentucky on Monday, EPA chief Scott Pruitt said that he will sign a proposal in Washington today “to withdraw the so-called Clean Power Plan” that was finalized by the Obama administration in 2015.
